I don’t want to cry…

I always thought that I might when I finally got to this day but really, there are no tears. My youngest child is laughing with his cousin and best friend, Alex, as my other children find their friends and catch up on what has happened over the summer. Bryan’s messy black hair and glasses reminds me so poignantly of Harry but his eyes are brown, just like mine. His smile, however, is that cocky grin that is completely like his grandfather’s, James that is, not my dad.

Far and away, Isabella is the most beautiful and popular of the group. Her honey blonde hair and green eyes make her look more like her aunt Fleur, and recently I have begun to wonder if she isn’t part-Veela too. Much to her father’s annoyance she is surrounded by a group of boys but my baby girl doesn’t really pay any attention to their flirtations. She’s 15 and she’s got better things to do, like discussing summer time homework with her best friend, April.

Tina, my eldest child, is going into her seventh year and sheepishly smiling at everyone around her. She’s Head Girl and a seeker on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. She loves Quidditch, although I doubt that she’ll make a career of it like her dad. I think my baby girl might follow in my footsteps and head to Egypt and the tombs. I watch her curly locks fly as she laughs with her boyfriend, Jeremy, and grin back at her as she waves and boards the train.

“Mum?”

I feel my youngest daughter’s hand slip into mine as Carissa. “Yes, sweetie?”

Her earnest green eyes meet mine and the sun reflects off of her bright red hair. “Are you going to be all right without us?”

I fight back the urge to smile as I remember a time, a long time ago, when I couldn’t have imagined having four children. “I think I’ll be okay. Your dad and I might go on a trip, or something. You know, keep ourselves busy so we can’t miss you too much.”

She nodded, seeing the wisdom in it as I ignore the shocked look on Harry’s face. I hug my daughter, the last one to get a hug and kiss goodbye, and tell her I love her.

“I love you too, Mum. I love you, Daddy,” she tells Harry and gives her father a hug. She smiles happily and walks over to the train, dragging her trunk. Her cousins, for there are large boys abounding in the Weasley family, automatically grab the trunks of my daughters, and Penny’s daughter Rachael, helping them get their things onto the train.

I know for a fact that Hagrid has several new creatures waiting for my monster obsessed Carissa but I also know that she’s in good hands.

“Bye Mum! Bye Dad!” I hear several familiar voices call from the windows as the whistle blows and the train begins to steam down the track.

Harry and I wave, hand in hand, with my siblings and parents until the train is out of sight.

“So what’s this about traveling?” Harry asks before I can say anything.

I wink mischievously. “Do you remember, a long time ago when we were in Egypt together and I told you that some day I was going to go back and become a Curse Breaker again? That I was going to take you along with me, when I went?”

“Yes…” he answers slowly, disbelief on his face.

I bite my lip, trying to keep the laughter at bay. “Well, Harry, guess what we’re doing tomorrow…”
