I wake slowly, blinking away the sleep, only to find Harry propped on one elbow, watching me. “Hey,” although it comes out strangely as I yawn while I talk, stretching up.

“Hey,” he replies and moves the hair from my face, cupping my cheek.

“You look tired.” I watch his eyes which look hazy.

He leans up to kiss my forehead before laying his head right next to mine, “Hermione is pregnant.”

“Tell me something I didn’t know,” I blurt out instantly.

I stare at my friend, as she sips at orange juice, over our small kitchen table. "You've been crying."

Hermione looks up, surprised and obviously uncomfortable. "Me? No! What makes you say that?"

"Your eyes are red and puffy," I point out. "What did the git do? You haven't even been married that long."

"No... Ron has been... perfect... in his own way of course,” she informs me with a small smile.

"Then why were you crying?" I ask again.

I look at the letter that Luna just sent back. I wrote to Luna on Sunday and I smile at the thought of seeing her. I scribble back a hasty reply to her.

I walk out of our bedroom, fresh from the shower but fully dressed, this morning to see Hermione sitting at our small kitchen table, drinking coffee. I pause as she gets up slowly and walks over to hug me. I hug her for a minute, but then wander off to our chair, wrapping myself up in the old quilt, half listening as they talk.

I got back to my tent this morning to find Hedwig snuggled up with a handsome barn owl that Hermione has used more than once to send me owls. I take their letters, give them some water and they both drift off to sleep while I go sit on my bed, staring at my post. I have to open Harry’s post first or the suspense will kill me and I am reassured, once again, by his answers. It is a weight off my shoulders and I know that I’m going to spend several hours reading his letter and responding.

Next I pick up Hermione’s letter and I read it through twice before the enormity of what she is saying hits me. I have to respond to her immediately.
